Mountain Landscapes Uniting Kyrgyzstan and Austria
Mountain landscapes uniting Kyrgyzstan and Austria have recently become the basis for the joint implementation of initiatives for sustainable development in the fields of ecology, mining industry, mountain tourism, sports, and mountaineering.
To gain a deeper understanding of this experience, a delegation from Kyrgyzstan led by Azamat Kadyraliev, Deputy Head of the Presidential Administration — Head of the Department for Preparation of Decisions of the President and the Cabinet of Ministers, visited Austria.
During the visit, a meeting was held with the Chairman of the Board of Doppelmayr/Garaventa Group, Michael Doppelmayr, where issues concerning the implementation of the cable car construction project at the "Ala-Too Resort" ski cluster in the Issyk-Kul region were discussed. The parties reviewed the progress of joint projects, emphasizing the importance of adhering to the construction schedule and ensuring the high quality of the work performed.
The delegation representatives then visited Skidata GmbH, where they familiarized themselves with the company's electronic control systems, equipment, and technical solutions. During a visit to the Snow Space ski resort, a meeting was held with the resort manager, Wolfgang Hettegger, Honorary Consul of the Kyrgyz Republic in the Federal State of Salzburg (Austria). The delegation reviewed the infrastructure solutions, management, and training systems used at the resort and received information about the instructor training process.
As noted by Zharkynbek Maksutov, Director of the "Ala-Too Resort" State Enterprise, the experience gained will be an important incentive for introducing similar components in the "Ala-Too Resort" ski complex. Additionally, a meeting was held with the management of TechnoAlpin, a world leader in the production of artificial snow systems. The parties discussed the use of both manual and fully automated versions of such systems.
A meeting was also held with Austrian Deputy Minister of Finance Andreas Reichhardt. The negotiations focused on the upcoming visit of an Austrian delegation led by A. Reichhardt to Kyrgyzstan, scheduled for November. The visit will include the first meeting of working groups for the implementation of the memorandums signed in Vienna in November 2024.
