Chairman of OJSC “Ala-Too Resort” Zharkynbek Maksutov Meets World Bank Delegation to Discuss Resort Development

During the meeting, Mr. Maksutov provided a detailed overview of the “Ala-Too Resort” ski resort project, which is being implemented with the support of the Government of the Kyrgyz Republic and President Sadyr Japarov. He emphasized the uniqueness of both the location and the project itself. In turn, representatives of the World Bank highlighted the features of the developed master plan and received answers to a number of questions related to the construction of the cable car system.

As the “Ala-Too Resort” project is planned to become one of the largest ski and recreational complexes in Central Asia, aimed at promoting regional tourism and creating new jobs, Mr. Milchevski expressed his intention to personally visit the resort construction site later this week.

It should be noted that the construction of the large resort area “Ala-Too Resort” is currently underway in the Issyk-Kul Region, Ak-Suu District, on the territory of the Khan-Tengir Ayil Okmotu. As part of the first stage of the land auction for facilities of the initial construction phase, held in July, local investors won 14 lots. The second stage of the auction will be announced in the near future, with an additional 35 lots to be offered.

The land plots are intended for the construction of 3-, 4-, and 5-star hotels, apartments and VIP cottages, an ethno-village, restaurants, cafés, and other commercial facilities. In the event that a foreign investor wins a lot, the land plot will be provided on a 49-year lease, while for local investors the land will be transferred into private ownership.

The auction will be conducted in an open and online format. Both local and international investors, representatives of construction companies, entrepreneurs in the tourism and hospitality sectors, as well as other legal entities and individuals, are eligible to participate.
