President Sadyr Japarov and Changpeng Zhao, Founder of the world’s largest international cryptocurrency exchange, Binance, visited Jyrgalan.

Sadyr Japarov, President of the Kyrgyz Republic, together with Changpeng Zhao, founder of the world’s largest cryptocurrency exchange Binance, visited Jyrgalan on February 8 during a working trip to the Issyk-Kul Region.

The visit began with an inspection of the resort territory, followed by a review of the construction progress of the all-season mountain tourism cluster Ala-Too Resort, which unites three resort towns: Jyrgalan, Ak-Bulak and Boz-Uchuk.

During the presentation, Deputy Head of the Presidential Administration and Head of the Office for Preparing Decisions of the President and the Cabinet of Ministers, Azamat Kadyraliev, highlighted the key advantages of the project. These include its strategic location, environmental sustainability, investment attractiveness, and compliance with international development standards.

He noted that the active phase of construction of modern cable car infrastructure is currently underway. High-speed combined ropeways B1 and B2 will allow visitors to ascend the slopes both in comfortable gondola cabins and on open chairlifts.

The total area of the mountain cluster will reach 3,916 hectares, while the total length of ski slopes will amount to 260 kilometers, placing Ala-Too Resort among the world’s top ten resorts by trail length.

The resort will also feature a panoramic restaurant, conference halls, a medical center, a stadium, an amphitheater, and recreational parks.

At present, construction of drinking water supply systems is ongoing, wastewater treatment facilities are being designed, and power transmission lines are being installed. Reconstruction of the Karakol–Jyrgalan road has also begun.

Azamat Kadyraliev emphasized that the state provides investors with an individual approach and minimizes bureaucratic procedures even at the document preparation stage.

He added that the cable car system and private villas are scheduled for completion in July, while the opening of the first phase of the project — the Jyrgalan resort town — is planned for December. Next year, three-, four-, and five-star hotels will be constructed.

Following the inspection, President Japarov and Changpeng Zhao enjoyed freeride skiing outside the prepared slopes.

Changpeng Zhao later shared his impressions, praising Kyrgyzstan’s mountain landscapes and clean air, and stated that he intends to recommend the country to his friends and business partners as a travel destination.
