President Sadyr Japarov launched the construction of the large-scale "Ala-Too Resort" ski cluster in Issyk-Kul province

President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sadyr Japarov today, August 8, took part in the capsule laying ceremony for the construction of the "Ala-Too Resort" ski cluster in the Ak-Suu district of Issyk-Kul province.

Before the start of the event, a video and a theatrical performance were demonstrated to the invited guests.

In his speech, Sadyr Japarov emphasized that "Ala-Too Resort" is not just a tourist complex, but a large-scale project that will make a significant contribution to the development of the national economy, provide a new impetus to regional development, glorify the beauty of Kyrgyz nature, and elevate the country's cultural heritage internationally.

The head of state expressed confidence that the project will become a year-round international-level ski and eco-tourism cluster – the largest in Central Asia. In the first phase, it covers the Jyrgalang, Boz-Uchuk, and Ak-Bulak areas, and is currently mainly known to residents of the Issyk-Kul Valley. However, in the future, as it is implemented, "Ala-Too Resort" will become a tourist destination of global significance.

As Sadyr Japarov announced, construction of a four-lane road from Karakol to the ski resort will begin soon. It is planned that the road will be fully paved and extended to this area by the fall of next year. Furthermore, helicopter communication will be established from the Karakol airport to this location, which will create more comfortable conditions for both citizens of the country and foreign tourists.

The President noted that this is the first attempt in the country's history to implement such a large-scale tourism project, which citizens have long called for but for which no concrete steps had been taken until now.

Sadyr Japarov announced that upon completion of the construction, the project will include approximately **155.3 miles** (250 kilometers) of ski trails, modern cable cars stretching **2.5 miles** (4 kilometers), 4,000 parking spaces, an ethno-village, wellness centers, and hotels. The resort will be able to accommodate up to two million tourists annually, and the number of permanent jobs will be about five thousand.

The President emphasized that the project will become a reliable source of income for the local population, an incentive for young people to stay and develop in their home country, and the basis for a decent life for hundreds of families. He also recalled that from July 15 to 18 of this year, 49 land plots intended for the construction of a tourist town in Jyrgalang were put up for open auction. The owners have already been determined for 14 of them. It is particularly gratifying that the winners were Kyrgyz citizens who demonstrated a high civic position and faith in the future of their country.

Furthermore, construction will be carried out in compliance with international environmental standards. Thanks to natural and artificial snow, the resort will be able to operate for up to seven months a year. The first phase of the project is planned to be put into operation next year, and the ski area in Jyrgalang will begin operation in December. The resort will be ready to welcome both foreign tourists and citizens of our country.

In conclusion, Sadyr Japarov noted that the result will be a modern resort where economy and ecology harmoniously combine, and a person can find an inner connection with pristine nature.

The President called on all Kyrgyz citizens to unite their efforts and turn "Ala-Too Resort" into a truly national project — a symbol of respect for nature, national unity, and aspiration for a bright future for Kyrgyzstan.

At the end of the event, President Sadyr Japarov presented state acts on the right of private ownership for the land plots where the projects for the construction of hotels and tourist facilities will be implemented.
